LYNX Version 4.8
LYNX Version 4.8 is now available to all Lynx clients who are currently covered by Lynx support.
The new features of LYNX Version 4.8 are summarized below. The new version also includes problem fixes and enhancements resulting from user feedback on earlier releases of LYNX 4. A complete list of new features is available under Lynx News, Lynx Version 4.8.
The most significant changes are:
Direct Volume Estimation for geostatistical estimation of variables for irregular volumes. Direct Volume Estimation estimates, stores and reports variable values for volume components and is applicable to mine planning and for thin seam structure estimation.
All major applications are now executed as a Background Process, freeing-up the main user interface so you can continue with other work. Any application that is executed as a background process can also be run as a Batch Process so you can schedule several applications to run at once.
New triangulation scheme for creating TIN surfaces, including: very fast triangulation, improved boundary and breakline honoring, and triangle regularization.
New 3D Viewer has been incorporated into the main LYNX user interface. 3D View will eventually replace the IBM Data Explorer.
LYNX Version 4.8 replaces all previous versions of LYNX.
LYNX Version 4.9 is scheduled for release in the Spring of 1999.
